For intralogistics processes to be cost-effective, forklift trucks and AGVs need to be available at all times. In order to also keep the costs generated as part of this process under control, Fronius Perfect Charging also develops sustainable charging solutions with added value. These efficient battery charging systems boast a high level of availability and fault tolerance while keeping costs to a minimum. At LogiMAT 2023, fleet operators, manufacturers, and other interested parties will be able to discuss solutions that are already providing Fronius customers with answers to the challenges of tomorrow today.
“LogiMAT is a great opportunity to meet up in person again after a long break. We are very much looking forward to being there,” underlines Patrick Gojer, Business Unit Manager Perfect Charging.
Fronius will be using this trade fair to highlight easy-to-implement complete concepts that push the boundaries of analog systems. The goal here is always to reduce energy costs, optimize self-consumption, and therefore increase customers’ efficiency and competitiveness. “Together we are developing ideas for safe and sustainable energy supply, in order to create genuine added value for manufacturers and users,” explains Patrick Gojer. The portfolio ranges from systems for gentle and energy-efficient charging to innovative solutions with individual charging characteristics for manufacturers in autonomous environments through to the new function PV Connect, which enables forklift trucks and AGVs to be operated using solar energy.
Fronius Perfect Charging equips its digital systems with intelligent features. The Charge & Connect networking solution ensures more transparency and control over the entire charging infrastructure. This increases the performance and availability of forklift truck fleets. For example, Charge & Connect Load Balancing helps to prevent expensive load peaks. The software does this by keeping the base load of the charging infrastructure as constant as possible and smoothing out peaks. PV Connect—the new feature in the Fronius Charge & Connect portal—also enables sustainable operation, with users mainly using their own self-generated renewable solar energy to charge their forklift trucks. Fronius experts will be demonstrating how this works to trade fair attendees live at the stand.
TagID guided charging is the new charging standard for operating the complete system with battery and forklift truck even more efficiently. The system continually measures different physical parameters of the batteries. The battery chargers use this data to ensure that the charging process is particularly gentle and efficient. “Thanks to our TagID guided charging solution, the fleet management system increases the availability of the forklift trucks, while simultaneously reducing the internal workload,” explains Johannes Spreitzer, Strategic Product Manager at Fronius Perfect Charging. “TagID guided charging also helps to ensure batteries are handled correctly, make the charging process more energy efficient, and extend the service life of the batteries in use,” adds Spreitzer.
Thanks to its outdoor charging solution, Fronius Perfect Charging will be on show in two different areas of LogiMAT 2023: at the stand and in the piazza. Operators of electric forklift trucks can use this solution to quickly and easily move the charging facilities for their traction batteries outside. This saves valuable space in the warehouse and increases safety. “We deliver the mobile outdoor charging station as a turnkey solution and can set it up anywhere,” explains Gerald Baumgartner, Head of Project Business Perfect Charging. “All we need to do this is an open space and a power connection.”
